Flower Essences for Pet Trauma
I recently completed a move from Colorado to California with my 2 cats.
The dilema we faced was how to transport our precious cargo with the least amount of stress.
I contacted my veternarian and she suggested I use medication to knock them out slightly. I wasn't comfortable with that suggestion but I was in a hurry.
The first day wasn't a happy day at all. The kitties cried the entire time.
The second day I tried the medication, only giving them 1/2 of the stated dosage. They were so dopey and disoriented I decided this wasn't going to work.
I looked to my flower essence training and book to see what I could do. The flower essence I used was the formula called Rescue Remedy.
This is a formula from Bach flowers made up of Cherry Plum, Clematis, Impatiens, Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem.
This formula is also known as five-Flower Formula from FES.
This formula was made to assist with calmness and stability in any emergency
or time of high stress. I think moving in a car across country qualified for stress.
The move was very stressful for my kitties, so I promptly added this to their water and also applied to their front paws so they could lick it off.
I was totally amazed at the nearly immediate calmness that they experienced.
I highly recommend this formula as a starting point. My husband and I also used the formula.
I learned this tip that when one member of the family is stressed then the entire family will be and all should take the formula together.
You may also find that each flower on its own will be useful.
