Flower Essences for Pet Trauma

Flower Essences for Pet Trauma

I recently completed a move from Colorado to California with my 2 cats.

The dilema we faced was how to transport our precious cargo with the least amount of stress.

I contacted my veternarian and she suggested I use medication to knock them out slightly. I wasn't comfortable with that suggestion but I was in a hurry.

The first day wasn't a happy day at all. The kitties cried the entire time.

The second day I tried the medication, only giving them 1/2 of the stated dosage. They were so dopey and disoriented I decided this wasn't going to work.

I looked to my flower essence training and book to see what I could do.
The flower essence I used was the formula called Rescue Remedy.
This is a formula from Bach flowers made up of  Cherry Plum, Clematis, Impatiens, Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem.
This formula is also known as five-Flower Formula from FES.

This formula was made to assist with calmness and stability in any emergency
or time of high stress. I think moving in a car across country qualified for stress.

The move was very stressful for my kitties, so I promptly added this to their water and also applied to their front paws so they could lick it off.

I was totally amazed at the nearly immediate calmness that they experienced.
I highly recommend this formula as a starting point. My husband and I also used the formula.

I learned this tip that when one member of the family is stressed then the entire family will be and all should take the formula together.

You may also find that each flower on its own will be useful.

Toothache help

The Pain The Pain

I woke up with a throbbing toothache.

What was I to do?

I just moved and don't have a dentist yet.

It was friday and most dentists are out of the office. The rest are off for the holiday.

I turned to my natural medicine cabinet and here is what I tried.

Essential oils of clove, birch, and helichrysum.

I used clove internally by applying 1 drop to the gumline and area around the aching tooth.

I then applied birch and helichrysum externally on the jawline around the achy tooth.

I mixed birch and helichrysum in my favorite carrier oil almond oil 1 drop of each in 10 drops carrier oil.

I applied this program 4 times during the day. I woke up this morning ache free and ready to face the weekend.

I am continuing treatment until I get in to see my new biological dentist.

I love essential oils because they are so easy to use and a lot less expensive than an emergency visit to the dentist. Oh yeah they work!

The next time you have a toothache try my suggestion. You also may fall in love with essential oils.

Drinking water danger

  Drinking Water Danger?
Are you being drugged by your water?

You may have recently read the startling
investigation by the Associated Press that
showed a vast array of pharmaceuticals --
  including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood
stabilizers and sex hormones -- have been found
in the drinking water supplies of at least 41
  million Americans.

As of yet no studies have been done to determine
what the long term effects are.
However you can probably guess that there are.

And making matters worse, most water filtration
systems haven't yet been designed to remove all
of these drugs from our water.

So what are you left to do?
The key to helping your body is to support it
with the proper nutrition. After all you are or will
  become what you eat.

By eating nourishing foods that work with your
body instead of against it, you can support
  a healthy immune function, detoxification
system, digestive system, hormonal system and
  more.

  1) Unprocessed - Any food that has been
processed by definition has had some of their
  important nutrients stripped out.
Try fresh, it is the ultimate in fast food.

  2) Rich in Good Stuff - Whole foods are rich in
vitamins, minerals, health fats such as omega-3s
  and phytonutrients, the powerful plant-based
chemicals that work behind the scenes helping
  our bodies to functional optimally.

  3) Free of the Bad Stuff - Try to avoid foods
that are conventionally grown or processed that
may have antibiotics, hormones, trans fats, high
fructose corn syrup or artificial colors or
  flavorings.
Choose organic or locally grown fresh foods.

The simple rule to follow is if the food is in a
can or a cardboard box, it's not whole, fresh
  food and should be avoided.
A great addition you may not have thought of is
  Essential oils.
Yes, I mean you can eat them. Lemon and Peppermint are great.
Ok there is a lot of controversy on this one,
however I have been eating essential oils for
some time and don't have any negative
  results to report.
Of course you will want to be cautious and not
  overuse them as
  they are very concentrated.
Check out my blog for further how tos.

Cooking With Essential Oils

Cooking With Essential Oils

Essential Oils Are More Potent Than
Herbs

Essential Oils are from 50 to 70 times more
therapeutically potent than the herbs or plants
they are derived from.
Unlike dried herbs, which lose up to 90% of
their healing nutrients and oxygen molecules,
essential oils do not.
Best of all, 100% pure, therapeutic Grade A Essential Oils
are freely available and safe for cooking and home use.
They are considered food additives by the government.
So let's start using essential oils in our cooking
for you and your family's vigor and strength!

Essential Oil Cooking Tips:

For stronger spice oils - such as basil, marjoram, oregano,
or thyme dip a toothpick in a bottle of essential oil and
stir it in the recipe after cooking. It is an excellent
way to flavor food.
Imagine, only 2 drops of an essential oil is equivalent to
a full bottle (2oz size) of dried herbs.
For a recipe that serves 6-10 people, add 1 or 2 drops
of a lighter essential oil, such as citrus oils like lemon
and orange, stir in just before serving, so the oil
does not evaporate.
Essential oils used in recipes: Add the essential oil
right before serving. The heat will evaporate essential oils.
With a few oils that are too strong - such as basil,
oregano, and rosemary - simmering will produce
a wonderfully subtle bouquet that is out
of this world.
Only use cookware you love and trust.
Stainless steel - pots and pans that will last you a lifetime!
Cook without oil or water - food will not burn!
And dishwashing is a breeze.
Which oils are safe to use for cooking?
Rule Number 1: Only use therapeutic-grade
essential oils. Remember if the herb is used is cooking the
essential oil may also be used.

Cooking With Essential Oils

Salad dressings or salad oils: Lemon, lavender,
rosemary, or peppermint in cold pressed oils
such as Olive or walnut

Meat and sauces: Basil, marjoram, oregano, or thyme.
Cakes, frosting, puddings, fruit pies: Lemon, orange,
or peppermint.
Herbal teas: Lavender, orange, lemon, peppermint.
Cool refreshing drinks: Lemon, orange, or peppermint
added to a pitcher of cold water.
Flavored honey lavender, basil, orange or lemon.
(Warm honeys until it becomes a thin liquid; then add the oil.)
Enjoy experimenting with Essential Oils everyday!!
